LegacyShield is an online information and document storage system that enables advisors to help their clients manage their personal information. They can choose to keep it secure and private, or share it immediately or only at an event such as death or incapacity with selected predetermined beneficiaries.
MyLegacy, the basic version from LegacyShield, will be made available to ALL AgencyONE 100 advisors and their clients at NO COST. Furthermore, a limited number of the Advisor Subscription Plan, which will enable an advisor to invite up to 500 clients to participate in the MyLegacy offering, will be made available to a select group of AgencyONE 100 advisors, also at no cost, subject to production requirements.
MyLegacy is LegacyShield’s core offering. The system is a secure storage environment where your clients can house all of their most important life documents. MyLegacy is broken out into 4 parts:
- MyVault: This includes any type of file (insurance policies, powers of attorney, mortgage documents, estate planning documents, etc.). Your clients can upload their documents directly into the vault and designate where the original files are located.
- MyAccounts: This includes all of your clients’ online credentialed accounts (bank accounts, credit cards, insurance, social media, online storage, paid subscriptions, etc.).
- MyWishes: This is where your clients will designate their wishes for their ceremony (cremation vs. burial, where the services should be held, if the services are prepaid, who should attend, what items should be buried with them, etc.).
- MyLifeStories: This includes any additional information that your clients might want to pass on to designated people such as pictures, videos, recipes, life lessons, etc.
LegacyShield operates in a unique way in that it distributes this information to your clients’ families upon his/her death. The client will set up his/her “LegacyTeam” which is made up of 3 groups of people:
- Notifier: This is the person who will be responsible for notifying LegacyShield that the client has passed.
- Authenticator: This is the human 2-step authentication process built into LegacyShield. The authenticator will receive an email asking him/her to confirm that the client has in fact passed away.
- Recipients: Once the event has been authenticated, the individual recipients will start receiving the information designated specifically for them. Your client can assign an individual recipient for each piece of data he/she stores in the system. For example, a husband may receive all pertinent life and financial documents whereas a daughter may be responsible for disabling all social media accounts. Maybe a grandson receives a life lesson on planning a marriage proposal whereas a granddaughter receives one on having children.
Life’s Mission Control is the enhanced version of LegacyShield which includes MyLegacy plus:
- MyBasic Estate: This includes the opportunity for clients to conduct some basic online estate planning through the electronic fulfillment of a Last Will and Testament, Advanced Directive, FinancialMedical Power of Attorney and other documents through an attorney network.
- MyFinancial View: This includes Account Overview and Organization, Budgeting and Financial Goals and Determination of Net Worth.
- MyCalculators: This includes a variety of financial calculators such as Rate of Return, Life Insurance Needs, Life Expectancy, Retirement Savings and many others.
For advisors qualifying for the Advisor Subscription Plan, MyLegacy and Life’s Mission Control provides a co-branded landing page which includes all of the advisor’s contact information so that the advisor who provides the platform to the client is always present. The circle of Notifiers, Authenticators and Recipients are now prospective clients and may be offered the platform as well – potentially creating a limitless and viral stream of leads for the advisor and an opportunity to establish multi-generational clients.
