Gonzalo Garcia, CLU
Gonzalo has built his reputation on stewarding innovative complex life insurance transactions from inception to completion. As a 30+ year veteran of the life insurance industry, Gonzalo has held senior positions with the original Potomac Group, BISYS/Crump, and Credit Suisse’s Life Finance Group. As a Partner at AgencyONE, Gonzalo is responsible for advanced markets and business development and works closely with our AgencyONE 100 Advisors to assist in reducing their client’s exposure to morbidity, longevity, mortality, and tax risks. He received a BS from Rice University and an MBA from St. John’s University (formerly the College of Insurance) in New York, NY.
Gonzalo is an active member of Finseca, having served as AALU Co-Chair on the Brokerage and Independent Distribution Task Force and a member of the AALU Diversity Committee. In 2019 and 2021 he served as a member of the Nominating Committee for the election of a new Board of Directors due to the merger between AALU and the General Agents Management Association (GAMA). He was also a member of the Education and Program Committee for the 2020 AALU Annual Meeting. Gonzalo is an active member of: The Forum 400 where he currently serves on the Program Committee for the 2024 Annual Conference and served on the Industry Partner Committee for the 2023 Annual Conference and the Membership Committee; The National Association of Independent Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA). Gonzalo currently Chairs the John Hancock Advisory Council, has served on the Brokerage General Agency Advisory Councils for Prudential Life Insurance Company, AIG\American General Life, and Mutual of Omaha. Finally, Gonzalo served on the Program Committee for the LIBRA Insurance Partners Spring & Fall 2023 Partners meeting and currently acts as a member of LIBRA’s Board of Directors.
Gonzalo is a sought out speaker at industry conferences including Finseca, The Forum400, The Association of Home Office Underwriters (AHOU), The Life Insurance Management Research Association (LIMRA), and the InsMark Symposium.
As a husband (to Alex), father (Carina and Nicholas), Gonzalo has an active life outside of the office. When not traveling for work and pleasure, Gonzalo is a volleyball enthusiast, playing and competing regularly, and a cyclist.
